Sports Illustrated
How's it goin ya'll?? We are now on our last tour stop, we play in LA tonight. Finally!! We've been on tour since Feb and training together since September. This tour has taken us everywhere. I think we only missed Alaska, Maine, North Dakota, Hawaii and Vermont. That's right, almost every state! Crazy. It's a beautiful country, although I saw it from the bus window most of the time. Alright here's a quick update. The Olympic Edition for Sports Illustrated just came out and Softball (woo woo!) has a double page spread! So ya'll need to go check it out for interesting fact on all the Olympics and our "tough" picture. (You'll know what I mean when you see it) My last thing is a request...we leave for China on August 3rd, and I'm trying to make a list of everything I need. Do you have any suggestions? What do I need? What don't I need? more importantly what would you bring?? #14

2. Extra room in your suitcase for the souvenirs you bring home to close family and friends
3. Open mind to experience the different things in China that you don't normally see in the U.S.
Umm... that's all I could think of as of right now :)

When ur out shopping, and u see something u like that u want then make sure u bring a notebook with u when ur out so u can write it down.
I have OCD lol. i write down EVERYTHING that i like from makeup to movies to music to health products. lol.

First off, good luck in Beijing. I have been a fan of USA softball for years, and plan on catching the games live on tv, even though they'll be on at midnight our time. I have lived in China before, and can say that it is becoming very Americanized. Food won't be an issue over there. The Chinese are very friendly and helpful, and think very highly of our country.
Extra batteries are a must. The ones in China are cheap (or may be ridiculously over priced cause of the Olympics). You wouldn't want to be stranded with a camera that doesn't work after you win the gold. Plus, the converters over there may cause some trouble for any electronics you try to plug in.
Ni hao is "hello" in Mandarin. It's pronounced "Knee how".
Xie xie ne is "thank you". It's pronounced "shi shi knee".
Good luck, and happy birthday!

Happy belated birthday,I fastpitched as a kid when I was 14,joined the Marines when I was 17 and got to fast pitch with them until I went to Nam in 1966. So I have been a fan for many years, my biggest thrill was meeting you in Kileen Texas in June. All I can say to you is keep your faith and remember who you are and that YOU are already a true champion. When you win the gold it will only be the icing on the cake.

My name's Rielly and I actually just got off the phone from leaving you a message at your saynow thing. Haha so check that! (: I'm 13 and I play traveling, tournament softball. I'm a catcher and my team the Warriors finished 36-0 this year! It was amazing. But like I said in my message, my dream has always been to play for the U.S. national team. Surprisingly, I have already been told a few times that I have a shot at making it when the time comes from opposing coaches and such. So I was just looking for some advice from you for somebody like me. And what do you think I could do to help bring softball back into the Olympics for 2016? It would be amazing if you could respond. Thanks for everything you do.
